In a statement on his campaign page on Facebook, presidential candidate ‘Abd al-Mun‘im Abū al-Futūh condemned the lawlessness currently taking place in Egypt, blaming it on the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), and urged a withdrawal of the Emergency law in 10 days at most. He warned that it poses a risk to both the revolution and the country.
In his statement, he goes on to say that he holds the military council responsible for the loss of confidence in state institutions, as well as the suffering and security of the people. "We call on the various political forces, and coalitions of the Revolution, and all presidential candidates to take firm positions [against the law]", he continues.
