In Rose al-Yūsuf, page 1, September 25, 2011, Dūs announced establishing the General Coptic Association and states his personal support for Presidential Hopeful and defected Muslim Brotherhood (MB) member, Dr. 'Abd al-Mun'im Abū al-Futūh.

Dūs added that the Association is not by any means associated with the church.
