Article summary:
Azhar Grand Imām Dr. Ahmad al-Tayyib says that apostatizing others is a threat to society, according to Rose al-Yūsuf.

“Takfir and rash accusations of iniquity are the most important phenomenon threatening Islamic society,” said al-Tayyib at a meeting for the Sixth World Forum of Azhar graduates.

He said that such ideas have spread despite unanimity among scholars that no Muslim should be apostatized.

For his part, Dr. ‘Alī Jum‘ah, the Egyptian Muftī, told the meeting that Islamic unity is the “only way out” for Muslims, and that improving education is the hope for a better future.
