"The army and police should have protected the demonstration from aggressors and thugs who infiltrated into the protesters' ranks," said Bishop Mūsá in an interview.

He said that as Christians "we are already consoled and confident that our sons are martyrs in paradise. We need no condolences from anyone," adding "the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) has promised to announce the outcome of the investigations into the Maspero incidents of October 9."

Bishop Mūsá also noted that Lt. General Sāmī 'Anān, the army's chief of staff and a SCAF member, has also promised that the law regulating the construction of houses of worship will be issued as soon as possible.
