The so-called "night of prayer and returning to God" continued for nearly 21 hours and was led by Archpriest Sam'ān, father of the Monastery.

It started at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011; prayers were to bring blessings to Egypt and its people, asking for forgiveness, for love, praying for the coming elections, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), Egyptian government, the sick, and Syria.
