In an advertisement published in al-Ahrām newspaper, al-Shar'īyah society, an Islamist organization, said it is incumbent on all citizens to go to the ballot boxes and cast their votes for whoever single candidates or lists they think are worthy.
The society, in its statement addressed "To Each and Every Citizen on the Lands of Egypt," cited verses from the Qur'ān, like "Conceal not evidence; for whoever conceals it,- His heart is tainted with sin. And Allah Knoweth all that ye do" (Chapter 2 – Verse 283) and "Verily, Allaah commands that you should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due (Chapter 4 – Verse 58).
The organization has set four conditions for good candidates the voters may vote for:
1 – A pious person with good manners and reputation.
2 – Honest in words and actions.
3 – Knowledgeable about the legislative and control duties inside parliament.
4 – One of applicable realistic platform that can achieve the interests of the Egyptian society.
