"I have met (Freedom and Justice Party leader) Muhammad Mursī and told him that we have to work together for the good of the nation and he replied 'there must be accordance between Islamists and liberals'," Sawiris told al-Mihwar Channel's 90 Minutes talk show on November 28.
He said that Egypt will get out of this predicament by forming a strong elected government, drafting an integrated constitution that would respect human rights and avoid a theocracy and having an elected president.
Sawiris denied as "rumors" reports that Copts would emigrate if the Islamists made it to power.
"I will never leave this country no matter what although there are still some aspects of discrimination against Copts, which indicates that the revolution has not been complete yet," he added.
