Coptic activist Mamdūh Ramzī said the Copts and the Muslim Brotherhood have wreaked havoc with Egypt by affecting voters' choices.
"A bishop, exploiting the absence of Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III, who is in the United States for medical treatment, has directed the Copts to vote for what was known in the mass media as 'church lists'," Ramzī said.
Georgette Qillīnī, a former member of the People's Assembly, rejected accusations against the church that it was involved in issuing election lists, noting the young Copts have made these lists in a bid to serve their uneducated relatives and friends.
