Article full text:

Violations, as attested by human rights associations' reports, were evident in the early quarrels between Salafīs during the first round of the parliamentary elections, where the bearded men were out to subject people to their wishes and desires.

Human rights reports spotted a quarrel between the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafī candidates with machetes and switchblades when the Salafists called for not voting for Counselor Mahmūd al-Khudayrī on the pretext that he was a Shiite.

Another incident of significance cited by human rights activists was that a 52-year-old woman was hit on her head by a club just because she was entering a polling station in Nasr City without wearing the hijāb (headscarf). Young Salafists called her names because they were definite she was not going to vote for them.
