Article summary:

Al-Wafd published the story on Runderkamp's film on its website on December 5. This was strange since it was not in their printed publication. The Wafd text was mailed by imām Fādil Sulaymān to Cornelis Hulsman, Jayson Casper with the question "Dear brothers, what do you think about this Dutch report??"

Article full text:

Hulsman, responded to Imām Fādil Sulaymān and said that he would respond in Arab-West Report. Imām Fādil Sulaymān is a prominent Muslim leader who is opposed to Salafī thought. His email is an indication that the al-Wafd article is almost certainly seen by many prominent Egyptian Muslims and thus not only remained in Salafī circles. The text on the Wafd website was nearly the same to al-Misrīyūn except for a couple of lines more in al-Wafd. Here they are:

1 - This is completion of the statements made by Voordewind: "Some Egyptian mass media have published documented reports about the issue confirming to facts that are entirely different to what the Dutch reporter believes.”

2 - This is one line more published by al-Wafd: Runderkamp concluded that the impression the world had about the incidents was totally wrong while the fact is that Muslims were not involved whatsoever in the burning of the church.
