In this editorial, the author expresses his disapproval of Pope Francis’s recent comments on civil unions for gay people.  He writes as follows:
Al-Nūr Party has warned against amending the article. Dr. Sha’baān Abdal ‘Alīm, the assistant secretary general of the party, stated that amending the third article may allow the marriage of gays and stated that Islam only recognizes Christianity and Judaism.
In an interview hosted by Ṣada al-Balad, Dr. Rev. Andrīyya Zakī of the Coptic Evangelical Church declared that marriage of homosexual has no theological grounds, and cannot be therefore accepted by the Church, stressing that the Church does not close her door to anyone.

The author praises the stand of Pope Shenouda against homosexuality.
The Sheikh of the Azhar sent a message to the bishop of Canterbury to support the stance of the Episcopal Church, which rejects homosexuality and homosexual marriage. He affirmed that all divine religions agreed upon prohibiting homosexual relations.
Pope Shenouda stressed that the Egyptian Church will continue fighting homosexuality. He said that the church issued a statement against homosexuality, which is against the teachings of the Holy Bible and against nature itself.
The author comments on the homosexual ‘marriage’ of an Anglican bishop. He comments that this action is a violation of Christian teachings and violation of human rights as well. He praises the stand of Pope Shenouda against homosexuality.
