Article about the struggle for an Egyptian identity, discussing Pharaonism, liberalism, the position of women. About Islamists the author writes "All in all, the identity that Egyptian Islamists present is not only anti-Egyptian but also one that is devoid of any national context and heritage."

C. Hulsman:That statement is generalized. Of course Islamists recognize heritage but that is a different heritage from non-Islamists.
