Our Learning Centre for refugees has made great progress in the past school year. We initially started with great financial uncertainties in the midst of covid-19 prevention regulations but have come through this year well. In particular the support of Peter Mathias of Achieve Education International Consultants for Tomorrow is highly important for the improvement of our Learning Centre.

For the new school year, 2021-2022, we are in need of an experienced English teacher for secondary age English speaking students with African backgrounds.

A good understanding of the Cambridge English Curriculum would be an advantage. The post is full-time. We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our growing team of committed educators to lead the teaching and learning in this crucial area.

Our ambition is to grow towards a regular school with Cambridge Assessment accreditation. The Learning Centre currently has 30 students on the level of Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 and aims to grow to a school with 200+ students.

The candidate needs to be service-oriented and passionate about educating low-income students according to the educational needs, abilities and potential of each individual student.

Teaching days and hours are Monday to Thursday and Saturday, 8.30 am – 2.30 pm.

Criteria

1) Must have a B.A. in English or English literature or more

2) Must be able to facilitate learning at different levels

3) Must be able to engage in managing volunteers

4) Must be comfortable with diversity of race, national origin, culture, religion, political opinion and gender.

Package

Salaries are paid in line with living costs in Egypt. We can offer the teacher a monthly salary of 350 Euro/net but paid in Egyptian Pounds, with the current exchange rate this is 6650 EgP/month.

Please check and follow CAWU Learning Center on Facebook, and send us your resume and letter of motivation to: Peter Mathias, principal school year 2021-2022, [email protected]. Deadline for applications is June 20, 2021.
